Dhāri is a town in Amreli district in the Saurashtra region of Gujarat. It sits on relatively flat ground, with the hills and dry deciduous forests of Gir rising to the west and south. On a map, the town is a dense, compact settlement with roads fanning out across farmland toward villages and neighbouring towns.
The town is known as a gateway to the eastern side of the Gir forest area, home to the Asiatic lion, and lions are often reported in the surrounding countryside. Nearby, the Khodiyar dam on the Shetrunji river forms a reservoir that shows up clearly as a broad water shape on the map.
