Dinskaya Map Poster & Print
Dinskaya is a stanitsa, a traditional Cossack settlement, in Krasnodar Krai in southern Russia. It lies a short distance northeast of the city of Krasnodar, on the flat, fertile plain of the Kuban. From above, the settlement is a wide, regular grid of long streets and deep household plots, surrounded on every side by large rectangular fields.
The stanitsa traces its origin to the Black Sea Cossacks who settled the Kuban at the end of the eighteenth century. Dinskaya carries the name of one of their original kurens, or settlement units. Its broad streets and spacious lots are typical of Kuban stanitsas, which were planned for farming households and livestock.
A Dinskaya map poster shows the steppe settlement pattern at its clearest. The grid is wide and generous, with small rivers and ponds scattered through the landscape, and the field boundaries repeat the geometry of the streets well beyond the town. It is a quiet, orderly composition shaped by agriculture and Cossack history.

Deep household plots
Narrow, deep lots behind each house give the blocks a fine striped texture on the map, a trace of farming life.
Kuban fields
Large rectangular fields surround the settlement on all sides and extend the geometry of the stanitsa across the flat plain.
