Divichibazar is the administrative centre of the Shabran district in northeastern Azerbaijan, a town long known as Davachi. It lies on the lowland strip between the foothills of the Greater Caucasus and the Caspian Sea. On the map, the land slopes gently toward the coast, and fields and forest patches surround a compact town.
The main road and railway linking Baku with the north of the country and the Russian border pass through this corridor. From above, they form long parallel lines that run roughly along the coast and give the area its main orientation.
