Driefontein is a settlement in southern Mpumalanga, South Africa, on the high grassland plateau that stretches toward the KwaZulu-Natal border. Its Afrikaans name means three springs, and the pattern is common across the region. Instead of a single dense centre, the settlement spreads widely, and homesteads and small clusters of buildings are linked by a network of roads and tracks.
