Genzano di Roma Map Poster & Print
Genzano di Roma lies in the Alban Hills south-east of Rome, one of the Castelli Romani towns. It stands on the outer rim of the volcanic crater that holds Lake Nemi, and on a map the town sits between the steep inner slopes of the crater and gentler ground falling toward the Roman plain.
The historic centre has streets that climb and curve with the relief, while tree-lined avenues fan out from the area around the Palazzo Sforza Cesarini. The Via Appia passes nearby, and on the lake side the land drops toward the water, leaving wooded slopes and open ground.
Genzano is known for its Infiorata, when a sloping street leading to the church is covered with carpets of flower petals for Corpus Domini. A Genzano di Roma map poster shows the town together with the lake and crater, one of the most distinctive settings of the Castelli Romani.
