Nhật Lệ estuary
The river widens as it reaches the sea and forms a broad estuary beside the city. On the map its curve and sandbars create the most striking natural shape.

Đồng Hới Map Poster & Print
Đồng Hới lies on Vietnam's narrow central coast, where the Nhật Lệ River meets the sea. The river mouth dominates the map. The city centre sits on the southern bank, a strip of sand dunes and beach runs along the ocean side, and bridges cross toward the coast.
The city was heavily damaged during the war and largely rebuilt afterwards, so much of its street layout is recent and fairly regular. Fragments of the old Quảng Bình gate and citadel remain near the river, small historic marks within the modern grid.
Đồng Hới is best known as the gateway to Phong Nha–Kẻ Bàng National Park, with its enormous limestone caves, a short drive inland. A Đồng Hới map poster shows the calm city between the river and the sea, the starting point for many journeys into the mountains.

Coastal strip
A long stretch of beach and dunes runs along the coast east of the river. It gives the poster a clean, almost straight edge where the land meets the open water.
Rebuilt centre
The post-war city has fairly regular streets and wide roads. Its ordered pattern contrasts with the soft curves of the river and the shore.
