Palace-centred core
The historic heart of the city centres on the Ooni's palace area. Surrounding streets are dense and irregular, forming the most detailed part of the poster.

Ile-Ife Map Poster & Print
Ile-Ife spreads across gently rolling land in Osun State. On the map, the older part of the city is built around a central area associated with the palace of the Ooni, and main roads run outward from there in several directions. Between those roads, dense residential areas fill the ground, and the pattern becomes looser and greener toward the outskirts.
In Yoruba tradition, Ile-Ife is regarded as the ancestral home of the Yoruba people and holds special spiritual importance. The city is also known internationally for the naturalistic bronze and terracotta heads made there centuries ago. Today it is a major university town: the campus of Obafemi Awolowo University occupies a large site on the edge of the city.
An Ile-Ife map poster shows the relationship between the old core and the city's growth. The radiating roads lead the eye from the centre outward, and the university campus stands apart as a large planned area with its own internal roads. The finished print is quiet and unadorned, honouring a place whose significance goes far beyond its size on a map.

Radiating roads
Main roads run outward from the centre toward neighbouring towns. They give the composition a clear, spoke-like structure against the residential areas.
University campus
Obafemi Awolowo University occupies a large site on the city's edge. Its planned roads and open grounds contrast with the older, denser town.
