Jeffreys Bay lies on the Indian Ocean coast of the Eastern Cape, west of Gqeberha. On a map it is a long, narrow town that follows the shoreline, with a few main roads parallel to the beach and many short residential streets running down toward the sea. The town is known around the world for surfing. Supertubes, a long right-hand point break, is one of the most famous waves anywhere and has hosted a leg of the professional world tour for many years.
