Kilis Map Poster & Print
Kilis lies in southern Turkey, just north of the Syrian border and south of Gaziantep. The town sits on an open plateau, and from above its compact centre is surrounded almost entirely by olive groves, whose regular rows give the landscape a distinctive fine-grained texture.
Kilis is one of Turkey's smallest provinces by area, and the town has long been a trading post between Anatolia and northern Syria. In the 2010s it took in a very large number of refugees from the Syrian war, which for a time nearly equalled its native population.
A Kilis map poster shows the old centre's narrow, winding streets, the newer blocks at the edges and the roads heading north and south toward the border. The groves surrounding the town give the poster a calm, even background that frames the settlement clearly.

Old town lanes
The historic centre keeps a network of narrow, irregular streets. They contrast with the straighter roads of the later neighbourhoods.
Border roads
Main roads lead south to the nearby Syrian border and north toward Gaziantep. They show the town's position between two regions.
