Königstein im Taunus Map Poster & Print
Königstein im Taunus sits on the southern slopes of the Taunus hills, northwest of Frankfurt. From above, its streets curve around the contours of the land rather than following a grid, climbing from the valley toward the hills. The old town sits beneath a castle ruin on a rocky outcrop, while villas and residential streets spread across the surrounding slopes, edged by dense forest.
The ruin of Burg Königstein, one of the largest castle ruins in Germany, dominates the town's centre. Königstein became a climatic spa town in the nineteenth century, drawing visitors for its air and views, and later attracted wealthy residents from Frankfurt. The Großer Feldberg, the highest peak of the Taunus, lies a short distance to the north.
A Königstein im Taunus map poster shows a place shaped by terrain. The winding roads, the castle hill and the forest edge create an elegant, flowing composition. In black and white, the contrast between built-up slopes and wooded hills reads clearly, making a refined image for anyone who knows the town.
