La Cruz Map Poster & Print
La Cruz, often called La Cruz de Elota, is the seat of the Elota municipality in Sinaloa, on Mexico's Pacific side. It sits on the coastal plain between Culiacán and Mazatlán. From above, a fairly regular set of town blocks lies beside the main highway. Irrigated fields spread out around it, and the ocean coast is a short distance to the west.
The Elota River runs close to town and gives the map a natural curve that contrasts with the straight streets and field boundaries. Agriculture shapes the whole area. Large rectangular plots, farm roads and irrigation lines cover the land around La Cruz and create a strong geometric pattern that continues well past the edge of town.
