Linares Map Poster & Print
Linares is in the south of Nuevo León, on the coastal plain that stretches east from the Sierra Madre Oriental. The mountains rise to the west, and the city has a regular grid layout centred on its main square and cathedral. On the map the streets form a steady pattern of square blocks that gradually loosens toward the outskirts.
The city was founded in the early 18th century and has long been a regional centre for agriculture and livestock. Across Mexico it is known above all for its glorias, soft caramel sweets made with goat's milk and nuts. Roads leading out of Linares connect it with Monterrey to the north and Ciudad Victoria to the south.
A Linares map poster shows the classic form of a Mexican provincial city: a central plaza, straight streets in every direction, and a ring of highways and farmland around it. Rivers and streams crossing the plain add a few gentle curves to a clean, orderly composition.

Sierra foothills
To the west the plain rises toward the Sierra Madre Oriental. Roads leading in that direction mark the transition from farmland to mountain country.
