Mâcon Map Poster & Print
Mâcon lines the west bank of the Saône in southern Burgundy. The river is the town's strongest feature on a map: a broad, slow band of water running north to south, with the historic centre pressed against it. The old streets run parallel to the quays, crossed by short lanes that climb gently away from the water toward the later districts.
The Pont Saint-Laurent, an old stone bridge, links the centre to the far bank and the flatter country of the Bresse beyond. Further out, ring roads, rail lines and newer neighbourhoods spread across the plain. To the west the land rises toward the vineyards of the Mâconnais, one of Burgundy's best-known wine areas.
Mâcon is the prefecture of Saône-et-Loire and the birthplace of the poet and statesman Alphonse de Lamartine. A Mâcon map poster brings together the river, the bridge and the tight old town, a classic French river-city composition drawn in clean black lines.

Pont Saint-Laurent
The historic stone bridge crosses the Saône from the centre, a strong horizontal stroke linking the old town to the opposite bank.
Old town grain
Behind the quays, narrow streets run parallel to the river and form a dense historic core that stands out clearly against the looser suburbs.
