Manay is a municipality in Davao Oriental, on the eastern coast of Mindanao facing the Philippine Sea. The town centre is small and sits close to the water. Behind it the land rises quickly into forested and farmed hills, and the barangays spread out along the coast and up into the interior.
From above, the core is a modest set of streets near the shore, loosely rectangular where the flat land allows. Beyond it, the coastal road follows the shoreline, and smaller roads climb inland along ridges and streams. Rivers cross the coastal plain to the sea, and their mouths show as small breaks in the line of the beach.
