Miguel Pereira Map Poster & Print
Miguel Pereira sits in the mountains of the interior of Rio de Janeiro state, north of the metropolitan area. On the map, the town follows narrow valleys, with streets branching into side valleys and climbing hillsides. There is no dominant grid. Instead, the network bends constantly, shaped by the green slopes of the Serra do Mar region.
The town grew around the railway that once connected this highland area to the city of Rio, and it became known as a retreat for people looking for cooler mountain air and a quieter pace. Weekend homes and small farms still spread out around the centre, linked by winding roads.
A Miguel Pereira map poster shows a town that fits itself into the terrain, with curving streets and scattered edges. It suits people who spent summers here, families from the town, and anyone who likes the character of Brazilian mountain resorts.

Former rail route
The town's history is tied to the railway, whose route helped set the direction of the early settlement through the valley.
