Mixquiahuala de Juárez Map Poster & Print
Mixquiahuala de Juárez lies in the Mezquital Valley of Hidalgo, north of Mexico City. The town centre has the regular block pattern common to Mexican towns, with streets meeting at right angles around a central plaza. Toward the edges the grid loosens, and the map quickly fills with agricultural land.
That farmland is the most distinctive part of the view. The valley has an extensive irrigation system, and canals and ditches run between the fields in long lines, dividing the land into strips and plots. Within a dry upland region, this network gives the surrounding area an unusually structured, cultivated look.
A Mixquiahuala de Juárez map poster places the town's tight grid at the centre and lets the irrigated fields spread around it. It is a map about the relationship between a town and the working land that surrounds it, drawn in fine, repeating lines.

Irrigation canals
Canals and ditches cut long lines through the surrounding farmland. They are the most characteristic element of the Mezquital Valley landscape on the map.
Field patchwork
Strips and plots of cultivated land surround the town on all sides, forming a finely divided pattern that fills most of the frame.
