Mont-de-Marsan Map Poster & Print
Mont-de-Marsan, the prefecture of the Landes department in south-west France, grew up where the Douze and the Midou meet. The two rivers join in the middle of town to form the Midouze. On the map, that meeting point is the natural heart of the composition, with the historic centre gathered on the narrow ground between the rivers.
Around this core, the town spreads out in a mix of boulevards, residential quarters and parks, while the great pine forest of the Landes presses in on the land around it. The town is known for its summer Fêtes de la Madeleine, with their bullfighting tradition, and for a museum devoted to the sculptors Charles Despiau and Robert Wlérick.
A Mont-de-Marsan map poster shows how a small southern prefecture takes its shape from water. The double river line, the tight streets of the old town and the looser outer districts make a balanced, calm image. It is easy to read from across a room and pleasant to study up close.

Old town streets
Between the rivers, short winding streets and small squares form the oldest part of town, denser and more irregular than the districts around them.
Boulevards and outskirts
Wider roads circle the centre and lead away from it, out into quieter residential areas and, further on, towards the pine forests of the Landes.
