Valley-floor streets
The built-up area follows the flat land between hills, so the town takes a stretched, linear shape instead of spreading evenly in all directions.

Nantong Map Poster & Print
This Nantong lies in the south of Chongqing municipality and should not be confused with the much larger city of the same name in Jiangsu. The terrain here is the defining factor: long ridges and narrow valleys typical of the region's hill country, where settlements take whatever flat ground the landscape offers.
On the map, the town's streets gather along the valley floor and stretch out in a linear pattern rather than a grid. Roads climb and switch back toward neighbouring valleys, and the gaps between built-up areas mark slopes too steep to build on. The result is an elongated, irregular footprint quite unlike a lowland city's.
A Nantong map poster suits anyone who wants to see how geography shapes a place. Every bend in the road and every break in the buildings follows a contour. Even in pure black and white, the print suggests the relief of the land around it, and the tight cluster of streets reads as a settlement fitted carefully into its setting.

Winding approaches
Roads in and out bend with the terrain and make looping lines that hint at the steep slopes they climb. They give the print a strong sense of movement.
Open hillsides
The large empty areas around the town are ridges and wooded slopes. On the poster, the absence of streets does as much to describe the place as the streets themselves.
