Natiaboani is in Burkina Faso's Est region, a flat country of savanna, scattered trees and seasonal watercourses. From above, the town is a loose cluster of short streets and compounds. There is no dense core. Buildings thin out quickly into fields and bush, and a handful of roads run away from the centre toward neighbouring communities across the plain.
Most of the map's character comes from what is missing. There are no tight blocks, rail lines or large water bodies. What remains is a sparse pattern of tracks, a few firmer roads and the faint lines of dry-season streambeds. Printed in black and white, it looks more like a drawing than a street plan, and it shows plainly how settlement follows the land in this part of West Africa.

There is no solid block of buildings. Homes and yards spread out in small groups, giving the centre of the map a soft, dotted texture instead of a hard grid.

Shallow drainage lines that carry water only in the rainy season run across the surrounding plain. They add faint, irregular strokes to an otherwise open composition.
