Paraíba do Sul Map Poster & Print
Paraíba do Sul is a town in the interior of Rio de Janeiro state, in the valley of the river that shares its name. The Paraíba do Sul, one of the most important rivers in southeastern Brazil, flows through the town, and the built-up area follows its banks. Hills rise close on both sides, so streets bend with the contours rather than forming a regular grid.
The town has roots in the colonial period, when the road between Rio de Janeiro and the gold region of Minas Gerais crossed the river here, and it later prospered with the coffee economy of the Paraíba valley. On the map, bridges link the two banks, and roads wind up into the hills toward farms and neighbouring towns.
A Paraíba do Sul map poster shows the river as the backbone of the composition, with the town gathered along it and streets branching into the side valleys. In black and white, the curving roads and hillside lanes form an organic pattern. It is a fitting gift for anyone who grew up in the town or knows the river valley well.

Bridges
Crossings link the two sides of town, drawing short, decisive lines across the water that tie the plan together on the poster.
Hillside streets
Roads follow the contours of the surrounding hills, bending and branching into small valleys and giving the map a soft, irregular texture.
