Parepare Map Poster & Print
Parepare sits on the west coast of South Sulawesi, facing a sheltered bay on the Makassar Strait. Its map is defined by the meeting of sea and slope. A narrow strip of flat land runs along the waterfront, where the port and the older commercial streets are concentrated, and behind it the terrain rises quickly into hills.
The harbour has long made Parepare an important stop for shipping and inter-island ferries along this coast. The city is also known as the birthplace of B. J. Habibie, Indonesia's third president, and a waterfront monument commemorates him and his wife, Ainun.
A Parepare map poster shows the dense lines of the coastal centre giving way to winding roads that follow the contours uphill. The smooth arc of the bay provides a large, calm area of open water. It is an elegant composition for anyone who lived near the harbour or has family ties to South Sulawesi.

Coastal strip
Flat land along the water holds the densest streets, making the waterfront the most detailed band on the map.
Hillside roads
Behind the centre, roads wind up the slopes in curves, giving the upper part of the map an organic look.
