Pijijiapan Map Poster & Print
Pijijiapan lies on the Pacific coastal plain of Chiapas, a long strip of flat land between the Sierra Madre and the sea. The town stands along the coastal highway that runs the length of the state, and from above its streets form a regular grid of blocks around a central plaza, a pattern typical of towns across southern Mexico.
Beyond the grid, the landscape does much of the work. Rivers descend from the mountains toward the coast, pasture and fields cover the plain, and nearer the shore lies a band of lagoons, estuaries and mangroves. The region is a study in transitions, from steep ground to flat land to water, with the town set in between.
A Pijijiapan map poster is a way to keep a warm lowland town close, whether you grew up there, left for work in another state or country, or have family along the Chiapas coast. The regular street pattern gives the drawing a calm centre, and the open country around it keeps the composition light and uncluttered.

Block grid
The centre follows a regular pattern of square blocks around the plaza, giving the poster a neat, legible core that reads well at any print size.
Plain and rivers
Streams from the Sierra Madre cross the flat land around town on their way toward the Pacific lagoons, adding fine winding lines to the open surroundings.
