Pô is the capital of Nahouri Province in the south of Burkina Faso, a short distance from the border with Ghana. It lies on the main road that runs south from Ouagadougou to the Ghana crossing. From above, the town takes its shape from that road, with streets branching out on either side into a looser residential grid.
The land around it is open savanna, with scattered trees, seasonal streams and farmland. On a map, the town is a clearly defined cluster of streets surrounded by wide, lightly marked ground. Tracks and smaller roads lead out to villages and fields across the surrounding countryside of the province.
The region is home mainly to the Kassena people, and the painted earthen houses of nearby Tiébélé are among the best-known sights in the country. The Nazinga game ranch lies to the west. Away from the main road, streets form a loose, open grid of blocks around the centre. It is less dense than a large city's but clearly structured.

At the edges of town, streets thin out into open ground crossed by tracks and seasonal streams. This leaves plenty of quiet space on the poster.
