Puma is a town in the Singida Region of central Tanzania, on the high, semi-arid plateau that stretches across the middle of the country. From above, the landscape is broad and open, with farmland, scrub and scattered homesteads, and the town itself forms a small, clear cluster where roads meet.
The map is spare. A handful of routes cross the area, and the settlement's streets gather around them in a modest pattern. Most of the paper is left open, which gives the finished drawing a calm, spacious quality quite different from a dense city map.
