Contour-following streets
Roads bend around the hills and along valley floors, so the town's street pattern flows with the land instead of following a grid.

Qitang Map Poster & Print
Qitang is a town in Chongqing municipality, in the hilly country north-west of the central city. The terrain here is typical of the Sichuan Basin's margins: rounded hills, narrow valleys and farmland shaped into terraces. On the map, the town fills the flatter ground available, and its outline is ragged where the slopes begin.
Streets follow the contours rather than any grid. Main roads curve along valleys and around hillsides, while smaller lanes climb or dead-end against steeper ground. Beyond the town, rural roads twist between terraced fields, ponds and scattered villages, forming a busy, irregular pattern of lines across the landscape.
A Qitang map poster shows how closely the town is shaped by its setting. In black and white, the curving roads and hill-bound streets form a fluid, almost hand-drawn composition. It suits anyone with ties to this part of Chongqing who wants a quiet, graphic reminder of home.
