Planned street pattern
Regular blocks of small residential plots give the centre of the map an even, finely drawn texture that stands out clearly against the plain ground around it.

Queensdale Map Poster & Print
Queensdale is a residential area in the Komani district of the Eastern Cape, formerly known as Queenstown, in the Chris Hani region. From above it has the tight, even pattern of a planned settlement. Short blocks of small plots fill a clear footprint, and the development ends abruptly at open ground. Beyond that edge the map turns into pale, lightly marked grassland crossed by a few roads and farm tracks.
The land around it is high inland country. It is drier and more open than the coast, with ridges and koppies breaking the horizon and watercourses that run only after rain. On a monochrome print the contrast is sharp. You get a dense, finely drawn neighbourhood at the centre and a wide, quiet field of terrain around it, with only a few long lines heading towards town and the surrounding district.
A Queensdale map poster works best at a scale that shows both the street pattern and the empty land around it. That relationship between built and open ground is the point of the image. It shows a real place where people have made homes, set down in an interior landscape large enough to give each street edge a clear meaning.

Open highveld edges
The built area ends sharply. Grassland, ridges and scattered tracks take over at the boundary, leaving wide pale space that frames the neighbourhood on the print.
Link to Komani
Roads leading west connect the area to Komani, the regional town. Those lines tie Queensdale into the wider road network of the Chris Hani district.
