Rockville Centre Map Poster & Print
Rockville Centre is a village in Nassau County on the South Shore of Long Island. Its map is a neat, dense grid of residential streets, a compact downtown and a Long Island Rail Road line running along an embankment through the middle. Parks and small ponds break up the blocks, and neighbouring communities press close on every side.
The village is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rockville Centre, and St. Agnes Cathedral stands a short walk from the downtown streets. Frequent trains to Manhattan have made Rockville Centre a popular commuter village for generations of New Yorkers.
A Rockville Centre map poster shows a classic American commuter town at a scale where individual streets can be read. The railroad cuts diagonally through the orderly blocks, giving the composition a strong line. It is the kind of map that makes it easy to point to a street and say this is where we lived.
