Streets on the slope
Built on uneven mountain ground, the town's streets curve and step along the terrain, so the grid is loose and irregular rather than square.

Sanare Map Poster & Print
Sanare is a town in the state of Lara, in western Venezuela, set on the slopes of the mountains that rise south of Barquisimeto. It is the main town of the Andrés Eloy Blanco municipality. The terrain shapes the map: the town sits on uneven ground, so streets follow ridges and slopes rather than a flat grid, and the edges of the built area are defined by hillsides.
Around the town the land is farmed intensively, and the area is known for its cooler climate and for growing vegetables, coffee and flowers. To the south lies Yacambú National Park, a protected area of cloud forest and mountain streams. On a map that means dense street lines at the centre and a surrounding space of winding rural roads that head up into the hills.
A Sanare map poster captures a town that looks different from the lowland cities of Lara. The compact centre, the streets bending with the slope and the roads trailing into farmland give the design an organic feel. It is a good choice for anyone connected to this part of the Venezuelan highlands.

Farmland all around
Cultivated hillsides surround the town, and the rural roads serving them wind outward in thin lines across the edges of the poster.
Yacambú to the south
The national park's cloud forest lies beyond the town, where the road network fades out and the mountains take over.
