Sinngu lies in Yangon Region, on the low, flat land of the Irrawaddy delta's eastern edge, not far from the city of Yangon itself. On a map, this is terrain without hills, so what shapes the picture is water and roads: slow creeks, drainage channels and a network of lanes that thicken as they approach the metropolitan area.
It is a place in transition. Some parts show the tight, irregular lanes of older settlement, while others show straighter, more recently laid streets and wide plots between them. Paddy and open ground still fill the gaps, which gives the map a patchwork quality rather than a single consistent pattern.
