Smethwick Map Poster & Print
Smethwick lies in Sandwell, on the western edge of Birmingham, and its map is a record of the Industrial Revolution. The Birmingham Canal runs through it on two levels, Brindley's older route and Telford's later cutting. Railway lines run beside them, and the M5 skirts the western side.
Galton Bridge, built by Thomas Telford in 1829, spans the deep cutting in a single cast-iron arch. Nearby stood the Soho Foundry of Boulton and Watt, where steam engines were built. Today Smethwick is also known for its diverse communities and its busy high streets, including the long run of shops on Soho Road.
A Smethwick map poster captures the way these routes interlock. Canals, rails and roads run in parallel and cross one another, while tightly packed terraced streets fill the spaces between. It is an intricate, engineered map with a great deal of history in a small area.

Galton Bridge
Telford's cast-iron bridge crosses the deep canal cutting, a small but important point where the town's routes meet.
Terraced streets
Rows of Victorian terraces fill the ground between the transport corridors, giving the map a fine, regular texture.

Näme üçin Smethwick
Many bar bolan karta
Smethwick matters to families who have lived here for generations and to many who came from elsewhere and made it home. A map poster is a meaningful gift for either, and a good choice for canal enthusiasts.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a street, a family name or a date. Choose Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint suits the canal engineering particularly well.
