Solenzo is the capital of Banwa Province in the Boucle du Mouhoun region of western Burkina Faso. The land around it is flat, farmed savanna. From above, the town shows up as a cluster of compounds and streets. Its edges are soft, and it fades gradually into fields instead of stopping at a hard boundary.
The road network is simple but readable. A few main routes cross the town and link it to neighbouring settlements. Around them, a grid of blocks and compound walls fills the space.
