Suozhen Map Poster & Print
Suozhen is the seat of Huantai County in Zibo, Shandong, and it sits on the open, flat land of the North China Plain. On a map the town is strikingly regular: wide avenues run in straight lines north to south and east to west, dividing it into large rectangular blocks. The absence of hills or major rivers lets the grid extend evenly in every direction.
Much of the present layout dates from recent decades, when the town expanded with new residential compounds, schools, public squares and industrial zones. Surrounding it is intensively farmed countryside, where field boundaries and village roads follow the same orderly directions as the town streets, so the grid seems to continue outward into the land.
A Suozhen map poster is a study in order. The main roads form a clean framework, the superblocks within them are filled with finer patterns of housing and courtyards, and the edges soften into fields and villages. It is a composition that rewards close viewing and suits anyone with family or working ties to Huantai.

Superblocks
Between the avenues lie large rectangular blocks filled with residential compounds and institutions, their internal paths adding fine texture to the grid.
Plain beyond
Outside the built-up area, fields and village roads continue in the same regular directions, blurring the boundary between town and countryside.
