Tebedu lies in the Serian area of Sarawak, close to the land boundary with Indonesian West Kalimantan. On a map the settlement looks small and practical: a few short streets gathered around the main road, with open ground and green hillsides on every side. Most of the frame is terrain rather than town, which gives the drawing a quiet, spacious feel.
The town is known as the site of Sarawak's main land crossing into Indonesia, with Entikong just across the line. That role shows in the layout. One road carries most of the traffic toward the checkpoint, and the smaller lanes branch off it like twigs from a stem.
