Togitsu is a town in Nagasaki Prefecture, just north of Nagasaki city on the shore of Ōmura Bay. The terrain is typical of this part of Kyushu: steep, green hills broken by narrow valleys, with settlement squeezed into the lower ground. Many residents commute to Nagasaki, and the town works as a quieter residential neighbour on the other side of the hills.
From above, streets follow the valleys down toward the water. Housing climbs partway up the slopes on terraced lanes, then gives way to wooded hillsides. Along the bay, the shoreline is partly reclaimed and partly natural. The national road and local routes wind through the valleys, linking Togitsu to Nagasaki in the south and the rest of the bay to the north.
