Ujhāni sits in Budaun district in western Uttar Pradesh, on the broad alluvial plain between the Ganges and its tributaries. From above, the town reads as a dense cluster of short, irregular streets that thin out quickly at the edges, where field boundaries take over and the pattern turns into a patchwork of small rectangles and country roads.
