Yizhou Map Poster & Print
Yizhou is a district of Hechi in northern Guangxi, lying in a valley shaped by the limestone karst landscape typical of the region. From above, the town follows the course of the Long River. It stretches along the valley floor, while steep, rounded hills rise on either side.
The area is known in Chinese folk tradition as the home of Liu Sanjie, the legendary singer of the Zhuang people. Her story is celebrated in songs and a well-known film. The landscape of river and karst peaks is closely associated with that story.
A Yizhou map poster shows a town defined by its setting. The streets gather on the flat land beside the water, and the karst hills limit where the town can grow. In black and white, the river's curves and the gaps between the hills make a composition that is both calm and dramatic.

Valley-floor streets
The built area is concentrated on the flat land beside the river. It forms a long, narrow strip of streets rather than a round city.
Karst hills
Steep limestone hills surround the valley. On the map they appear as empty spaces around which the roads bend, clearly outlining the town.
