Historic battlefield plain
The open ground around the town is associated with the Battle of Badr, fought in 624 CE. That gives this otherwise quiet map a significance far beyond its size.

Badr Ḩunayn lies in the Medina Region of western Saudi Arabia, in a broad valley between dry mountain ranges and the Red Sea coastal plain. It is best known as the site of the Battle of Badr in 624 CE, one of the defining events of early Islamic history. On a map, the modern town appears as a spread of low blocks set down in a wide, pale landscape.
Most of the street pattern is recent. It is laid out in straight lines and large parcels, typical of Saudi towns that expanded in the late twentieth century. Main roads cut through in long straight runs, and the edges of town fade into wadi beds and open ground. A Badr Ḩunayn map poster shows how thin the line between built area and desert is here.
The surrounding relief matters as much as the streets. Hills rise on several sides, and seasonal watercourses leave faint, branching traces across the plain. In black and white, those traces and the empty spaces between them give the composition a sparse, almost diagrammatic quality. The town sits where routes and water have met for many centuries.
The open ground around the town is associated with the Battle of Badr, fought in 624 CE. That gives this otherwise quiet map a significance far beyond its size.
Most streets follow a regular planned layout of broad blocks and long avenues. On paper this reads as a clean pattern against the surrounding emptiness.
Dry watercourses and rocky ridges frame the town. They appear as faint lines and blank areas that place the settlement inside a wide desert landscape.

This map means something to pilgrims, historians and families with roots in the Hejaz. It is spare enough to work well on a plain wall, where a small grid surrounded by open ground reads as calm rather than empty.
Add a title in your own words and a subtitle such as a year or a family name, and adjust the coordinates line. There are five styles, from Classic black & white to Sand, which suits the desert setting. The HD files cost $9, and you can check a free watermarked preview first.
