Cambuslang lies just south-east of Glasgow, on the south bank of the River Clyde, which curves along its northern edge on the way into the city. The map starts on the flat riverside land crossed by the railway. From there it rises through streets of tenements, villas and later housing toward higher ground in the south. The pattern is irregular because the village grew with industry, not to a plan.
The town has a place in Scottish religious history. It was the scene of the Cambuslang Wark of 1742, an evangelical revival that drew crowds of many thousands to open-air preaching here. Later centuries brought coal, steel and engineering, and much of the riverside has since changed use. Today Cambuslang is part of South Lanarkshire, closely tied to Glasgow by rail and road.
A Cambuslang map poster captures the edge of a large city where it starts to thin out. The Clyde curves across the top, the railway makes a clean diagonal, and a dense web of residential streets loosens as it climbs. It is a map for people who know the difference between Cambuslang and the rest of the conurbation and want that local identity on the wall.
The river bends along the northern side of the town. It gives the map a strong, flowing boundary and separates Cambuslang from the districts across the water.
The line into central Glasgow runs through the lower town. It is a straight, mechanical stroke laid across the older and more meandering streets around it.
South of the centre, streets climb and curve with the slope. The layout becomes looser and more suburban as it reaches higher ground.

Aiheā Cambuslang
Cambuslang has its own identity despite sitting so close to Glasgow, and a map of it says so quietly. It suits anyone who grew up here or moved away, or who wants a reminder of the streets between the river and the hill.
The poster can carry your own wording: a family name, a year, or simply the town's name with its coordinates. There are five styles, from Noir for a dark, graphic look to Paper for something softer. You can download the files for $9 or order a printed poster, framed if you like.
