Kashiba is a city in the west of Nara Prefecture, near the border with Osaka Prefecture. On a map, it lies on the edge of the Nara Basin, where the flat valley floor begins to rise toward the hills to the west. Twin-peaked Mount Nijō stands nearby to the southwest.
Much of Kashiba grew as a commuter town for people working in Osaka. Planned residential neighbourhoods with curving streets and cul-de-sacs sit next to older rural settlements and rice fields. Railway lines run through the city and connect it to the centres of Osaka and Nara.
A Kashiba map poster shows this mix of the planned and the traditional. The orderly patterns of the new neighbourhoods are set against the irregular lanes of older villages and the rising ground of the western hills. It is a subtle map, but one with a clear and balanced structure.
Along the western side of the city, the ground rises toward the hills on the Osaka border. Mount Nijō's twin peaks stand close by to the southwest.
Residential districts built for commuters feature curving streets and cul-de-sacs, creating a smooth, flowing pattern that differs from the older village layouts.
Railway lines cross the city and connect it to Osaka and Nara. They form long straight lines between the residential areas and fields.

Aiheā Kashiba
Kashiba is a place where families put down roots, and many people living in Osaka grew up there. The map reflects a calm, well-ordered home landscape with hills in view.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, including with Japanese text for the title. There are five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Paper matches the soft, quiet feel of the town.
