Ohangaron is a town in Tashkent Region, Uzbekistan, in the valley of the river of the same name, which flows from the mountains toward the Syr Darya. It lies between the capital and the mining city of Angren further up the valley. The main road and railway both follow the river toward the mountains in the east.
The town developed as an industrial centre in the Soviet period, and on a map its structure is easy to follow: residential districts of regular blocks, broad avenues and larger industrial zones along the transport corridors. Cement production is among the industries associated with the town, and its plants appear as large, clearly outlined areas at the edges.
Around the town, irrigated fields and orchards fill the valley floor, and the foothills of the Tian Shan begin to rise to the east. An Ohangaron map poster shows this sequence in clean line work: the river, the planned town and the transport lines leading upstream toward Angren and the mountain passes beyond.
The river runs along the valley past the town. This natural line sets the direction of the roads, railway and fields across the whole map.
Regular residential blocks and wide avenues form the heart of the town, a clear planned layout that reads well in black and white.
Road and rail follow the river between Tashkent and Angren. They are drawn as parallel lines that tie Ohangaron to the capital and the mountains upstream.
