Te mape
Ouagadougou sits on the level laterite plateau of central Burkina Faso, and the map reflects that ground. With no hills or coastline to bend it, the city spreads almost evenly in every direction, a low field of blocks divided by long straight avenues. Near the centre the grid tightens around the administrative quarter and the markets, then loosens into broad residential districts whose lanes read as a fine, even texture at the edges of the sheet.
The strongest shapes lie to the north, where a chain of dammed reservoirs, known locally as barrages, cuts a pale band across the city. Beside them the green mass of the Bangr-Weoogo urban park interrupts the street pattern. Radial roads leave the centre toward Bobo-Dioulasso, Kaya and Fada N'Gourma, and outer boulevards draw a loose boundary that the newest neighbourhoods are already crossing.
Ouagadougou is known across Africa for FESPACO, the pan-African film festival held in the city since 1969, and it remains the seat of the Mossi king, the Mogho Naba, whose palace hosts a weekly ceremony. A Ouagadougou map poster keeps the city in its plainest form: the reservoirs, the long avenues and the steady spread of streets toward the plateau horizon.
Three linked barrages stretch across the northern districts, forming the largest open shapes on the map and separating the centre from the neighbourhoods that lie beyond them.
A large protected woodland beside the reservoirs, the urban park appears as a solid, unbroken block in the street pattern, one of the few places where the grid simply stops.
Main roads leave the centre in several directions, toward Bobo-Dioulasso in the west and Kaya and Fada N'Gourma to the north and east, giving the city a faint star shape.

Aiheā Ouagadougou
For people who have lived or worked in Ouagadougou, the map is a clear record of a city that is hard to picture from the ground: the lakes, the long roads out, the neighbourhoods where days were spent. Rendered in black and white, its even plateau spread becomes a quiet, balanced print.
You can change the title, add a subtitle such as a year or a neighbourhood, and keep or edit the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download HD files for $9 or order a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
