Palm Valley is a community in St. Johns County, Florida, in the Ponte Vedra area south-east of Jacksonville. It follows the Intracoastal Waterway, which here runs as a long man-made cut through what was once a low, wooded valley. The waterway is the defining line on the map, running roughly north to south with land and marsh on either side.
The settlement pattern is linear rather than gridded. Homes and lanes follow the waterway and Palm Valley Road, with side streets ending in woodland or marsh. East of the water, the land narrows towards the Atlantic beaches. A Palm Valley map poster captures this stretched, riverside shape, which is quite different from the compact grids of many Florida towns.
The area was long rural, known for its farms and fish camps before suburban growth reached it from Jacksonville and Ponte Vedra Beach. Salt marsh, tidal creeks and pine woods still surround much of it, and on the map these read as quiet open space around the fine threads of roads.
The waterway runs as a long, even channel through the community. It is the strongest feature of the poster and gives the whole design its vertical axis.
The main local road follows the waterway, with side lanes branching off towards homes, docks and woodland. It creates a clear spine for the settlement.
Salt marsh and pine forest surround much of the area. On the map they leave broad open spaces that emphasise the narrow, linear shape of the community.

Aiheā Palm Valley
Palm Valley means something particular to the people who live along the water here: dock mornings, tidal creeks and quiet roads a few minutes from the beach. A map of it suits a new house on the waterway or a long-time family home.
Write your own title and subtitle, such as a family name, a boat name or a closing date, and keep or adjust the coordinates. Blueprint and Noir make the waterway stand out, although all five styles are available as downloads or printed posters.
