Te mape
Port Charlotte lies on the north shore of Charlotte Harbor in southwest Florida, where the Peace River widens into the harbour. It was developed from the 1950s onward as a planned community by the General Development Corporation. The company platted thousands of home lots and dug a large network of residential canals so that many houses would have water frontage.
This planning is visible immediately on the map. Instead of an old centre, the town has a vast, even carpet of curving streets and looped blocks. The canals run between them in long, narrow fingers that branch and bend toward the harbour. US 41, the Tamiami Trail, runs through as the main commercial spine, and much of the town sits on either side of it.
A Port Charlotte map poster is unusual because it makes the canals appear almost like drawing. In black and white, the waterways become thin pale lines inside dark blocks of streets, and the harbour edge closes the composition with broad open water. It shows a whole town designed on paper, then built almost exactly as drawn, with the shape of each street and canal still clearly legible.

The wide estuary of the Peace River forms the southern edge of the map, with a smooth open surface that balances the dense grid of the neighbourhoods.
US 41 runs through the town as its main road. It is one of the few straight, heavy lines in a street pattern otherwise dominated by curves and loops.

Aiheā Port Charlotte
Many people come to Port Charlotte to retire, spend winters or finally live close to the water. A map of its canals and harbour is a quiet reminder of that choice, whether it hangs in the house itself or somewhere far away.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, for example with a street name or the year you moved. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download the files or order a printed poster.
