Coastal ribbon
The town stretches along the shore rather than inland. Parallel roads follow the bay, and short connecting streets make a long, ladder-like pattern that reads clearly at every print size.

Te mape
Safaga lies on Egypt's Red Sea coast, on a thin strip of flat ground between the shoreline and the dry ranges of the Eastern Desert. From above, the town looks more like a ribbon than a town with a centre. Its main roads run parallel to the water, short cross streets lead down to the beach, and the port interrupts the curve of the bay with its piers and basins.
The harbour is a working port. It has long handled phosphate exports and ferries to the Arabian coast. Further along the shore, calm water and steady winds bring divers and windsurfers. On a map the two sides of Safaga look very different: the straight lines of the quays sit against the softer outlines of beaches, shallow lagoons and reef edges.
A Safaga map poster shows all of this in black and white. The coastline becomes the strongest line on the sheet, and the desert inland stays almost blank. Between them, the street pattern shows how a town fits itself onto a narrow band of level ground between sea and mountain, and how it grows along the coast instead of inland.
The town stretches along the shore rather than inland. Parallel roads follow the bay, and short connecting streets make a long, ladder-like pattern that reads clearly at every print size.
Piers and harbour basins cut into the curve of the bay with hard, straight edges. They are the most geometric part of the map and a clear sign of Safaga's working waterfront.
West of the last streets the map goes almost empty, with only a few roads heading into the Eastern Desert. That open space makes the settled coast stand out on the sheet.

Aiheā Safaga
Safaga is often remembered as a starting point: a dive trip, a crossing, a winter spent by the sea. A map of the town keeps the shape of that coast on the wall, drawn plainly enough that the bay and harbour are easy to recognise from across the room.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with the dates of a stay or the name of a dive site. Then choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand suits this desert coast especially well.
