Somerset Island lies in the Canadian Arctic Archipelago, in Nunavut. It is large, low and uninhabited, separated from the Boothia Peninsula on the mainland by the narrow Bellot Strait. Lancaster Sound runs along the north, Prince Regent Inlet to the east and Peel Sound to the west.
