Bay of Acapulco
The sheltered horseshoe of water dominates the composition. Its smooth shoreline is broken only by small beaches, piers and the headlands that close it off from the open Pacific.

Acapulco de Juárez is built around one of the best natural harbours on Mexico's Pacific coast. From above, the bay is a near-perfect curve, and the city follows it closely because it has little choice. Steep mountains rise just behind the shore, so streets climb in switchbacks and neighbourhoods cling to the slopes wherever the ground allows.
The Costera Miguel Alemán runs along the water, linking the old town on the western side of the bay with the hotel strip further east. On a map it reads as one continuous line tracing the beach. Beyond the eastern headland, the coast continues towards Puerto Marqués and the Diamante zone, where newer resorts spread across flatter land.
The city's past is maritime. For more than two centuries it was the American end of the Manila galleon route, and the Fort of San Diego still overlooks the port. At La Quebrada, on the western cliffs, divers leap into a narrow inlet, a tradition known far beyond Mexico. An Acapulco de Juárez map poster holds the bay, the hills and the old port in one frame.
The sheltered horseshoe of water dominates the composition. Its smooth shoreline is broken only by small beaches, piers and the headlands that close it off from the open Pacific.
A single long avenue follows the curve of the bay east from the old town. It shows the hotel zone as a thin ribbon of streets between the sand and the hillside.
West of the bay, the tighter, older streets around the zócalo and the fort run out towards cliffs and narrow inlets, including the famous diving site.

Acapulco carries decades of holiday memories, from mid-century glamour to family trips and honeymoons. A map of the bay is a quiet way to keep one of those stays close. Put a hotel, a beach or a name in the title, and the date of the trip on the subtitle line.
Sand suits the coastline naturally, and Noir turns the Pacific into a deep black field against pale streets. Classic black & white, Paper and Blueprint are also available. Choose a $9 HD download in six sizes or a matte printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
