Ko e mape
Aqaba sits at the northern tip of the Gulf of Aqaba, on Jordan's short stretch of Red Sea coastline. From above, the city spreads in a broad band between the shore and the granite mountains that rise sharply behind it. The border with Israel and the town of Eilat lie just to the west, and the coast runs south toward Saudi Arabia.
The old town centre is near the Mamluk-era Aqaba Fort, which was captured in 1917 during the Arab Revolt, an episode later made famous by the film Lawrence of Arabia. Today the city is Jordan's main port, and the coral reefs along its southern coast make it a well-known destination for diving and snorkelling.
An Aqaba map poster shows the city pressed between sea and rock. The coastline runs in a sweeping line, the port facilities stretch south along the water, and the street grid climbs gradually toward the mountains. With the gulf filling one side of the frame, the composition is simple and very clearly structured.
The shoreline curves around the northern end of the Gulf of Aqaba. It is one of the most recognisable coastal shapes in the region.
Near the waterfront, the older streets gather around Aqaba Fort and the main corniche. It is the historic heart of the city.
Port terminals, beaches and reef areas stretch south along a narrow coastal strip toward the Saudi border, forming a long, thin line on the map.

Ko e hā ʻa Aqaba
Aqaba is where many people had their first dive, their first view of the Red Sea or their first posting in Jordan. The sharp meeting of desert and sea makes a bold, clean map for the wall.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a trip date or a dive site name, then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand is a natural fit for this desert coast.
