Arsin lies on the Black Sea coast in Trabzon Province, a short distance east of the city of Trabzon. Like many towns on this coast, it occupies a narrow strip of level land between the sea and mountains that rise almost immediately behind it. On the map the built-up area is long and thin, following the shoreline.
The coastal highway is the dominant line on the print, running parallel to the sea along the whole length of the town. Inland, roads climb the valleys in tight bends to villages spread across slopes where hazelnut orchards and tea gardens cover much of the land. Streams run down from the hills to the sea, cutting short, steep valleys that break up the coast.
An Arsin map poster shows the classic form of an eastern Black Sea town: sea on one side, mountains on the other, and a ribbon of road and buildings in between. The straight coastline and the winding hill roads give the composition a clear, layered structure.
The main road runs along the sea for the length of the town. This strong line separates the shoreline from the narrow band of streets behind it.
The coast is fairly straight and open, drawn as a clean edge that gives the print a calm boundary against the dense strip of town beside it.
Behind the town, roads climb the steep slopes in tight bends toward villages set among hazelnut orchards and tea gardens, forming fine, winding lines.
