Asprópyrgos lies in West Attica, on the Thriasian plain between Athens and Elefsina. Its name means white tower. On a map the residential town is fairly compact, with a grid of streets and small squares. It is surrounded by a much larger area of industrial plants, warehouses and logistics centres that stretch across the plain toward the coast.
The area is one of the industrial centres of Greece. A major oil refinery sits nearby, and its round storage tanks make distinctive circles on a detailed map.
