Bến Tre lies in the Mekong Delta in southern Vietnam, and much of its map is water. The town sits beside the Bến Tre River, and from there smaller canals and creeks branch into the surrounding land. Beyond the centre, large islands formed between branches of the Mekong fill the view. Their edges are drawn by wide, slow rivers rather than roads.
The area is known across Vietnam as a coconut-growing region. Groves and orchards cover much of the land between the waterways, and boats have long been as important as roads for local transport. In recent administrative reforms the former Bến Tre province became part of Vĩnh Long. The town remains the main urban centre on its stretch of the delta.
A Bến Tre map poster captures a landscape where the line between land and water keeps shifting. The street grid near the river is modest and compact. Around it, the branching channels create an organic, almost botanical pattern. On a minimalist print, those curves become the main subject.
The river runs along the town and ties together its quays and central streets. It is the clearest line on the map and links the town to the wider delta system.
Small canals and creeks spread out from the river into farmland and orchards. On the poster they form a fine, irregular network that looks almost like the veins of a leaf.
Large islands between the Mekong's branches surround the town. Their long, rounded shorelines give the composition broad shapes framed by open water.
